Interview to Photography by Bomobob

Compartir
My first interview. Thanks Bomobob for your time!

1. What kind of art do you make and how would you describe it?
I'm a photographer. I do other things as well, but that's my main artistic endeavour.

2. What’s your favorite material to work with?
Film. Even in this digital age, I still mostly shoot film. I love the tactile nature of it, holding it up to the light, the richness of the colour of saturated slide film.

3. What do you like most from your profession?
I love the way the world looks through the viewfinder of a camera, the way you have to choose what fits in and what doesn't. It makes me see light and lines differently than with the naked eye.

4. What’s the most challenging thing you had to face?
Honestly, keeping dust off my gear in Southern Africa.

5. Where do you find your inspiration?
Most of the time I don't find it, but it finds me. Being outdoors in nature invariably makes me see things I never would have thought of. I travel a great deal, and am always immersing myself in new surroundings, and when that happens, it just comes. I think being out of my own local "world" is the greatest inspiration for me.

6. If you had the possibility to create your ideal studio, how would it be?
Big. Two big rooms, two floors. One for photography and one for woodworking!

7. Which are your favorite artists?
I love the architecture of Antonio Gaudi. He had an amazing ability to fuse technology and physics with nature.

8. What music have you been listening to recently?
Puccinin's "Tosca". You asked :)

9. Last book you read or you are reading right now.
"The End of Mr. Y", by Scarlett Thomas.

10. Which are your favorite blogs?
decor8.com, thriftydecorchick.blogspot.com

11. Where can we find you?
